I had heard great things about I Am Nacho Mama before I finally went there. The place was quaint but beautifully decorated. The food was pricey, but I wouldn't mind as much if they had given me the correct toppings. I had carefully selected toppings for each taco and paid extra for it. But unfortunately all tacos came with the same nacho mama toppings.

Great for groups of or less. The place has some atmosphere, it is aesthetically pleasing and an overall refreshing experience. Food is prepared and cooked visibly in front of you which ends up being a longer wait so if you're not in a hurry this place has no flaws. Ordered a ton and everything was good. Definitely coming back to try more options and find my faves.

Can we talk about lunch! My friend and I took a trip to a place called I Am Nacho Mama ( W Village Green, Hicksville, NY ).It's located in a pretty unassuming strip mall. They had about seven tables outside and about as many indoors. From the outside of the place I wasn't impressed, butt inside it was totally different. Beautifully decorated and just a fun vibe.Had my friend had Mexican street corn and the taco lasagna. He said both were great and very fresh.I had three chicken tacos. It came beautifully on a plate with a small side salad. I don't know what they made their dressing out of but it was phenomenal.Tacos contained Giant chunks of meat and very fresh ingredients. It came with a small ramekin of what I could only describe as tomato soup. I don't think it actually was tomato soup but I'm not sure what to do with it. I tried it on my tacos and it was too thin to act as a sauce. The only negative that I can tell you will fill you in a little bit about the only food issue I truly have. My name is Ken and I can't have my food touching. What I mean by that is the salad on my plate touched my tacos. Not only did it touch my tacos but the dressing got all over one of the shells rendering it unedible for me. A normal human would have devoured the hell out of it but I couldn't. It has nothing to do with getting messy as that doesn't bother me it's just one of my idiosyncrasies. All in all this place was phenomenal. We got to it from work in minutes and that was perfect. I even got to meet Papa and Mama, lol. We spoke to Papa and Mama from across the restaurant. I have to tell you if the woman there was actually mama I'm in love with this place. She talked to each and every one of the employees and hugged most of them. I love one owners take pride in their restaurant like this.Read this and many reviews like it at @long island foodies on Facebook.

The best way to put it is, it felt like nacho mama invited us to her home and cooked us lunch. The meal tasted fresh and home made. The atmosphere felt friendly and inviting, as you can see in our lovely picture . Oh, and the bathroom was CLEAN.We ordered the Mama's ribs, nachos and the a la plancha. All were very good.Nacho Mama and her staff were attentive and friendly, always making sure we were being taken care of. Truly a great experience both taste wise and customer service. If I'm ever in the area, I'll stop by again for another bite.I would recommend.
